If caulk gets wet before it is allowed to completely cure, it’s formula won’t perform as intended. That could mean it’ll take longer than advertised to dry and cure or, worse, the tight seal you were hoping to create will be compromised. If the latter happens, you’ll have to remove the caulk and start the project over.

Unlike other adhesives, silicone keeps its elasticity and stability in both high and low temperatures. Furthermore, silicone sealant is resistant to other chemicals, moisture, and weathering.
What will silicone not stick to?
Firstly you need to understand that silicone does not stick to anything other than the adhesive system or the PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive). This means silicone does not interface directly with wood or metal or any other material, instead it interfaces with the PSA itself.

You can also use a blow dryer to really speed up the process. However, be sure to keep keep the blow dryer at a low or moderate temperature, and stay at least 1 ft (0.30 m) away from the adhesive when blow-drying it. Only use the blow dryer for between 5-10 minutes.
