Porco Galliard recalls inheriting Ymir’s Titan power After being brought back to Marley, Ymir willingly allowed herself to be killed and eaten by Marcel Galliard’s brother, Porco Galliard, transferring the power of the Jaw Titan to him.
Why was Ymir killed?
The first being in the cosmos in Norse mythology was Ymir the giant making him among the most primeval beings in Norse cosmos. When Odin and his brothers came to Norse world, they decided to kill Ymir and to use his body shaping the world.
So yes, Reiner and Bertholdt knew that in taking Ymir to their hometown, they were taking her to a certain death. Season 4 simply confirmed what fans already feared. We won’t be seeing Ymir again.
