Locate the hole underneath the doorknob shaft. You should see a tiny slot or hole. Push the tip of a narrow screwdriver into the hole. Tug on the knob and it will slide right off.
How do you remove a front door handle?
Hold the doorknob as tight against the interior mechanism as possible and slip your flathead screwdriver beneath the lever. Push the lever in the opposite direction from what you used to remove the knob. Slide it all the way until it can’t go any farther. At this point the doorknob should be locked back in place.
How do you remove a door handle with privacy lock?
Find the small slot along the doorknob stem on one of the doorknobs. Insert a small flat-head screwdriver into the slot. Push the tip of the screwdriver against the tab inside the slot to release the knob from the privacy doorknob stem. Pull the doorknob from the stem.
