Do you have to pay to message on care com?
First, in order to send a custom message to any caregiver, you will need to have a Premium Membership, or if you have a basic membership, the caregiver you are trying to message will have to have a Premium Membership. Messages sent through Care.com are just like sending an email and are delivered instantly.

How much does care com take out of your pay?
Care.com will take 2 percent of the existing 12 percent transaction fee it charges families and contribute that money to benefits for those families’ caregivers.
A premium membership includes all of the features of a basic membership, plus the ability to: Contact caregivers to schedule interviews. Request background checks. Reply to applications and other messages received from caregivers.
Is care com worth the money?
Care.com does have plenty of talent on the site for people looking for quality sitters. If you are in the process of looking for a regular sitter, I would recommend paying for a short-term membership, fervently interviewing candidates, and canceling once you find someone you like.
Does Care com take a percentage of your pay?
First, Care.com does not take a cut of your pay. Payment and payment details are strictly between you and your employer. We do offer a feature that lets employers pay you online if you want to do that.
You can sign up for a basic account on Care.com and use the site for free. However, the basic account only gives you access to certain features, and doesn’t allow you to easily communicate through the online messaging system. To get more features, you need to purchase a paid membership subscription.
Can you hire someone on care com without paying?
No, you do not need a premium account to hire someone. You will however miss out on some of the great or top individuals for that task without a premium account.
Does Care com take taxes out?

Can you get scammed on care com?
Care.com helps people in need of assistance connect with and hire caregivers. The site has grown into one of the world’s largest of its kind, but online scams and fraud are prevalent. Fraudsters are increasingly targeting individuals looking for nanny and babysitter jobs and other caregiver positions.
Why does care com charge now?
As part of those efforts, to join our platform all caregivers are required to complete an annual background check – CareCheck – as part of our screening process. These enhancements come at a cost and we charge a nominal, annual fee for basic caregiver memberships on the platform.
Should I give my Social Security number to care com?
Your Social Security Number is used to run your CareCheck. If you do not have a Social Security Number, we will not be able to run your CareCheck. We take your privacy seriously, therefore your information is stored using secure encryption.
