It only needs the push of a button, just like the walls. All it needs is one key that will rotate the foundation 45 degrees at a time, like the E key does when it flips (OR rotates 180 degrees at a time) the walls that go on those foundations.

If you’re not on Official, you can use Structures Plus and they have fence supports that you can stack for uneven ground. Well, they ain’t adding any more mods on the server I am on as they want to keep it as close to vanilla as possible (just some minor changes) so I’m out of luck I guess.
